Tamang Heritage Trek is an amazing newely opened trekking route located between Ganesh Himal and Langtang himal. It is perhaps the most accessible trekking region in Nepal which is just in the north part of Kathmandu valley. Langtang is the region of ancient Tibetan Monasteries, Rhododendron and Bamboo Forests, Majestic Waterfalls, snow-capped Himalayas, and many sacred Lakes. Here, you can experience some of the most beautiful scenery in the country—terraced green farmland, thick forests, and the peaks of the Langtang Himalayas, close to the Tibetan border and giving a great opportunity to closely observe the lifestyle of the Tamang’s who are highly influenced by Tibetan culture who originally came from Tibet as horse traders and settled in hilly parts of Nepal several hundred years ago.
During our journey to this beautiful place, we will be rewarded with outstanding views of the Himalayas like Lirung, Langtang Kerung, Chimse Danda ridge crossed by Ganjala Pass, Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges.
The Tamang Heritage Trek starts from Syabrubesi which is reached after almost 6 hours’ drive from Kathmandu. Ascending the road north towards the Tibetan borderlands and trekkers enjoys a relatively gentle walk through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and peaceful valleys. The trail is well equipped with local lodges, teahouses and homestays that provide delicious snacks and vegetarian cuisine. We can also relax in the natural hot springs at the Tatopani.
